Finally the $25,000 HomeBuilder Scheme has been announced!
The Federal Government has officially announced today a $25,000 HomeBuilder Scheme, as a part of the Governments forth stimulus package now introduced to re-stimulate our economy. In simple terms, the new HomeBuilder Scheme makes your dream of owning a brand new Bentley Home just that little bit closer.
But who will be eligible to get the $25,000 HomeBuilder grant?
The home-building scheme will be means-tested which is similar to the government’s first home deposit scheme. To qualify for HomeBuilder scheme, you need to be an eligible owner-occupier (not a investors, company or trust purchaser) and be building a new home worth less than $750,000 (combined land & construction value.) And if you are a First Home Buyer, the $10,000 Victorian First Home Buyer scheme remains in place, meaning you could save $35,000 on your new home!
Applicants for HomeBuilder must also meet the following income and timing criteria to qualify for the scheme.
If you are a single applicant, your income earnings must not exceed $125,000 & if applying as a couple, you must not exceed $200,000 as a combined income.
You must have entered into a new home building contract between 4 June 2020 and 31 December 2020.
The Construction of your new home must begin within 3 months of signing the contract.
You must be an Australian citizens and over 18 years of age.
